Birmingham City Centre Partnership is a private-public sector organisation with an established track record.

The Partnership is committed to pursuing the BIDs initiative and, following its success with the Broad Street BID, will continue to do so with the retail led BID.

Through its Retail Birmingham Group, the Partnership liaised on all issues affecting the shopping environment, working with retailers, centre managers, property owners and the public sector to promote the retail offer.

However, these arrangements increasingly lacked the capacity, resources and wider retailer engagement necessary to tackle the future retail agenda in the UK  most popular shopping destination outside the capital.
