How much it costs

The BID financial structure seeks to be:

  • Fair and transparent
  • Collective

The BID cash budget, which is estimated at £850,000 pa, is based on:

  • A modest annual BID levy based on 1% of the rateable value of the high street retailers business premises.
  • Voluntary contributions by the owners of the Bullring, Mailbox, Pallasades and Pavilions centres, based on 0.3% of their rateable value.
  • Voluntary contributions from Birmingham City Council, other private sector contributions and commercial income.

The BID total annual investment will exceed £1m once significant in-kind contributions from Birmingham City Council in support of management and administration and Marketing Birmingham in relation to marketing initiatives are taken into account.
